Wills

Is a Will necessary?
The laws which determine rights of inheritance are out of date and long overdue for reform. They cause untold misery for many people at a time when they are least able to cope. These problems can be avoided by a Will prepared by us and which will set out in clear and concise terms who is to benefit from your estate. A Will is especially important if you have dependent children. The Will should appoint guardians of the children and probably also create a Will Trust which will ensure that they are financially protected in the event of the death of both parents. All it requires is an hour or so of your time to enable us to assemble all relevant facts and provide advice tailored to your wishes. This is a very small commitment to deal with assets which you have taken a lifetime to accumulate!

Will my estate be taxed when I die?
Inheritance Tax is known as a voluntary tax! The tax can often be avoided altogether through careful Will drafting. Every week we advise clients to discard Wills which have been prepared with insufficient thought to the tax position. We replace them with new Wills which not only reduce or eliminate Inheritance Tax but which will also create huge tax savings during the lifetimes of your chosen beneficiaries. Our Wills also protect family assets against problems besetting beneficiaries, for example marriage or Civil Partnership break-down or financial difficulty.

What will it cost?
People often worry about the cost of making a Will. We offer the following service:

A free, no obligation initial interview to discuss your requirements and to assess your Inheritance Tax position
At the end of the interview we will provide you with a clear and concise estimate of the cost were you to instruct us.

Client care
We at Coupe Bradbury take great care to establish all relevant facts and information before preparing our Wills. The importance of attention to detail in Will drafting cannot be over-emphasised. A Will prepared by this firm should last a lifetime! It will certainly be a sound investment.
