VACANCY: PRIVATE CLIENT LAWYER 

PROFILE OF THE FIRM AND ITS PRIVATE CLIENT DEPARTMENT

Coupe Bradbury Solicitors of Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire has probably the largest private client department on the Fylde peninsular.

Situate in this attractive and prosperous part of Lancashire, the department currently has a team of six lawyers, four of whom are STEP qualified.  One of our experienced lawyers is leaving us to spend more time with her young family.

WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT

We undertake substantial work for clients throughout Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria and other parts of the country.  The work of the department includes:

  • Administration of deceased estates,
  • Administration of private and charitable Trusts,
  • Personal estate planning for high net worth clients including advice on all taxation aspects,
  • The drafting and putting on foot of private and charitable Trusts,
  • The drafting of both simple and complex Wills,
  • The drafting and putting on foot of Powers of Attorney and advice to the elderly,
  • Guardianship applications and administration.

RECRUITMENT OF A NEW LAWYER AND THEIR ROLE IN THE DEPARTMENT

We are looking to recruit an experienced private client lawyer to specialise in tax, estate planning, trusts and estate administration.

This is a responsible position and a full-time role.

This new position will cover a broad base of private client work with an emphasis on personal estate planning.  The successful applicant will receive a salary within a range of £35,000 to £50,000 per annum plus a performance-related component.

The successful applicant will be part of a team which is dedicated and committed to the clients of the department and the professional services which the department is providing.

The successful applicant must be willing to work closely with professional colleagues.  The applicant will not be left at any time in the middle of the ocean without a paddle!  Mutual professional support is part of the culture of the department.  Mentoring is available at all times.

THE CANDIDATE

The candidate must:

  1. Be able to demonstrate a good academic record combined with a range of extra-curricular interests (we are looking for a well-rounded person).
  1. Be a qualified solicitor of two or more years experience.
  1. Have STEP membership or currently be studying towards STEP qualification.
  1. Have strong organisational and commercial skills.
  1. Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to empathise with clients’ concerns.
