Animal Claims
If you have been injured by an animal then you may be entitled to claim compensation from the keeper of the animal.

For a claim to succeed it must be shown that the animal in question was known to have "dangerous" characteristics and that the keeper failed to take adequate precautions to prevent their animal causing injury. The more common claims result from dog bites or attacks by other domestic animals but claims may also arise from injuries caused by horses or cattle.

Criminal Injuries
If you have been injured as a result of a criminal act then you may be entitled to claim compensation.

The most common type of claim arises from an injury caused by an assault. A civil claim may be brought against the perpetrator of the assault but where the assault has been reported to the Police, possibly leading to a criminal conviction, a claim may be brought against the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board ("CICB"). The CICB has the power to award fixed levels of compensation for particular types of injury. For example, the loss of a front tooth attracts an award of £1,500. Claims against the CICB must be brought within 2 years of the date of the incident giving rise to the injury. This is different to the usual 3 year rule for Personal Injury claims.

Sports Injuries
If you have been injured whilst playing sports or during leisure activities then you may be able to claim compensation.

To be able to succeed with such a claim you will need to be able to show that the injury was somebody else's fault. Examples would include where the injury was caused by faulty sports equipment or by the actions of another participant acting outside of the rules of the game in question.

If you think that you may have been involved in any of these accidents you should contact us immediately by telephone or fax. Alternatively you can simply e-mail brief details of your claim to us using our form

Once we have received the same we will contact you to discuss whether or not you will be able to make a claim and arrange a no obligation cost free initial interview if you would like one.
