Frequently Asked Questions

Where do accidents happen?
Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time.

Who is to blame?
If someone is to blame for your accident you will be able to make a claim for compensation. We will advise you whether it will be possible to prove that someone was to blame.

When should I contact you?
Immediately - do not delay. It is possible that if you do not seek legal advice immediately after an accident you may prejudice your ability to be able to make a claim. If you are too poorly to contact us direct you should ask a relative or a friend to do so on your behalf and we are happy to see you at home or at hospital.

What types of compensation will I be entitled to?
You can claim for your injury and any financial losses which are directly attributable to the accident. Please visit the link that deals with types of compensation.

Should I bother making a claim?
Yes! If you have suffered injury, trauma or shock your claim is at the very least likely to be worth a few hundred pounds. In addition you will have the opportunity in most cases to be assessed by a Consultant at no cost to you - something you would have to wait a long time for under the NHS!

Must I go to Court?
Whilst it is impossible to say that you will not, very few cases progress to Court as Insurance companies do not fight cases that they know or suspect that they will lose. The vast majority of claims settle out of court.

What will the initial interview cost?
Nothing - it's absolutely free and there is no obligation. We will provide you with an initial interview at our offices, at hospital or at your home.

What can you do for me?
We offer you the exclusive services of a specialist personal injury lawyer who will deal with your claim throughout. We will take all the necessary steps to deal with your claim in partnership with you and explain the processes and provide you with all the advice you need to make the necessary decisions. Our service is professional and efficient but also friendly and accessible.

I have seen all the advertisements on TV and the Radio for these so called "Claims Companies". Are you one of those?
Absolutely Not. We are a firm of Solicitors and we have no links or business with Claims Companies. Your claim will be dealt with by a Solicitor throughout and we have no links with outside organisations such as Legal Expenses Insurers. If we do not think that you need to take out insurance to make a claim we will tell you so. Indeed it is likely that you already have pre-purchased insurance that you will be able to take advantage of.

How much of my compensation do you take?
Nothing! Not a penny! Your compensation is yours to keep in full.

How do I fund the claim?
We offer a variety of funding options, the majority of them being on a No Win NO FEE agreement. Please visit the link that deals with the funding options that we offer.

Why can't I just deal with the matter myself? The defendant has already admitted liability for the accident and their insurers seem willing to help?
Under no circumstances should you attempt to deal with the matter yourself. You may inadvertently prejudice your ability to claim or the claim itself. It can never be in your best interests to allow someone else's insurance company to deal with the claim directly. Nor is it in your interests to allow your own insurance company to deal with your claim. Insurance companies are large, impersonal organisations who will not necessarily make sufficient effort to deal with your claim, especially if there may be some dispute as to who was at fault for the accident.

Remember that you should never:
- admit liability for an accident
- make a statement to anyone, including the Police
- agree to pay compensation for anything
without speaking to us first. You will often be in shock directly after the accident and thinking clearly may be difficult. Please feel free to contact us from the accident scene and we will inform you of the correct action to take there and then - we can provide you with a small card to fit into your purse or wallet with our details on in case you need it, although we hope that you never will!

Just contact us - don't wait until you have had an accident.

Remember that the first rule of the Solicitors Practice Rules is to always act in the best interest of their clients.

I think that I may have had an accident that is someone else's fault
what should I do?
Contact us immediately by telephone or fax. Alternatively you can simply e-mail brief details of your claim to us using our form.

Once we have received the same we will contact you to discuss whether or not you will be able to make a claim and arrange a no obligation cost free initial interview if you would like one.
