Free Law Clinic
Coupe Bradbury provides a free law clinic on Wednesday evenings from 5.00pm until 6.30pm, when advice regarding family and matrimonial issues can be given.
During that time, we can explain to you the aspects of family law which are relevant to your case. We can also advise you on the steps that you will need to take next. We will advise you about the costs involved and will assess your eligibility for public funding.
At the end of the meeting, it will be your decision whether you wish to instruct us to act on your behalf and, if so, what action you wish us to take.
Costs
Costs are calculated on a time basis.
Depending upon financial circumstances, will determine whether or not a client is entitled to public funding (legal aid). If they are not so entitled, then the funding of the action will have to be met personally.
The initial meeting may be undertaken on a "no obligation" basis. This means that if you do not want to proceed beyond the initial meeting then it will not cost you anything. However, if you then want to instruct us beyond that meeting your bill will include the time taken at the initial meeting.
Advice will be given at the outset concerning the funding of matters. If eligible for public funding, forms will be completed and advice will be given as to the financial implications. It should always be remembered that public funding does not necessarily mean that it is free.
For those clients paying personally, charging rates will be advised and methods of payment which will enable the client to fund the matter will be discussed.
